The trek is graded as Challenging. There is long time trekking at high altitude, with certain steep and rocky paths. The trek will be doable for trekkers with average physical fitness and some previous trekking experience.

Previous trekking experience is not mandatory, but highly recommended. The trek involves several hours of walking in high altitude every day, so a good fitness level will help. If you are a novice trekker, it's highly advisable that you train prior to the trek by walking and hiking to make your body enduring enough.

Do I need to carry my own gear?

You do not have to carry heavy gear because there are porters who will carry your bags. You need to pack personal items like clothes, trekking shoes, sleeping bag, and down jacket. You can rent it in Kathmandu if you don't have one.
